Happier & Healthier
It’s much easier to build better habits and take on new perspectives when we have a support system to help guide us. That’s why connecting people to resources that empower Joplin’s overall wellness—physically, mentally and socially—is a key component of our mission.
One Joplin has identified five areas of wellness that are most prominently affecting our community today:
HEALTHY EATING
39% of adults in Joplin are overweight or obese. Keeping a healthy diet reduces the individual risk for heart disease, stroke, and many other illnesses.
On average more than one-third of our day is spent at work. Worksite wellness programs can help lower employers’ direct costs and extend beyond the walls of the worksite.
